Studying Bellies in Belize

Whether your symptoms are acute or chronic, it can often be an ongoing battle to maintain peace and harmony with your belly. Believe me, it has taken me years to end my battle with the belly with it’s laundry list of health complaints. My own search took me as far as the rainforests of Belize where I undertook life changing studies with Dr Rosita Arvigo.  Studies were often distracted by the beautiful “Belizean Blue” butterfly fluttering under my nose.. This magnificent butterfly begins it’s life cycle as a tiny dewdrop shaped pale green egg. Soon after it changes into a voraciously hungry caterpillar, then into the bizarre form of what looks like a sleeping tequila worm, and finally into a dazzling beauty! It is the art of transformation and makes regular appearances throughout the site as a reminder of what is possible once we let go and lighten up. Wouldn’t it be amazing if the only complaints being made were from the health issues themselves as the toxic, stagnant, negative environment which they currently thrive in shifts into one of only wellness and happiness.

In a nut shell, Abdominal Therapy is all about the health and happiness of your belly’s organs and creating an internal environment where they are able to thrive and carry out all the incredible jobs that they are designed to do for you. Each session, whether online or in clinic, or within workshops and retreats is focused around clearing the mental, physical and emotional clutter that gets trapped in the belly causing the organs of the belly to under perform. The techniques used in clinic specifically look at stimulating the circulation and boosting the vitality of your reproductive and digestive organs and is suitable for both men and women.  These clinic based sessions combine my training and experience in the ancient healing technique of The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® , a non invasive external abdominal massage along with other supportive modalities including Reiki, Meditation and Reflexology.

Abdominal Therapy looks at the triggers that cause the organs that make up your digestive and reproductive systems to go belly up causing you to experience all sorts of weird and wonderful tummy troubles. Despite much healthier diets and lifestyles, digestive and reproductive health issues still remain one of the most common health complaints. Therefore, we gotta take a look under the hood, to look beyond diets and lifestyles and take a little journey into your internal world. Your cells are where its at and often get overlooked by their owners who hope that a switch in diet or time on the yoga mat will be enough to keep the tummy trouble free. Every cell that makes up each of the organs of your belly needs to be clutter free to work and operate at its full potential enabling the organ that it makes up to do the same. A belly that is in balance is able to process and manage an assortment of demands without going into a major meltdown. Healthy food and healthy lifestyles go along way in supporting belly wellness but the effects can be short lived if any of the following channels of flow that keep the belly balanced and well are restricted or blocked:

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.

The Arvigo techniques address the position and health of the pelvic and abdominal organs. The work is best known for the correction of the prolapsed, retroverted, fallen, or tilted uterus and for the prevention and treatment of benign prostate enlargement in men, and for relief of many common digestive disorders and symptoms. Based on over forty years of training and experience in massage, naprapathy, herbology, and spiritual healing, Dr. Rosita Arvigo (pictured opposite with Danielle) developed these techniques which now bear her name. This modality incorporates a holistic approach to health care which includes massage, as well as emotional support. Dr. Arvigo believes that with any natural healing technique, these areas must be simultaneously addressed to promote optimal health. Dr. Arvigo learned these techniques from her mentor, Don Elijio Panti, one of the last great Maya Shaman of Belize, Central America with whom she apprenticed for ten years.
